Grow Wild - Ruby Star Society version

Grow Wild - Ruby Star Society version

This quilt set a record for how long it took to get out of my brain and into reality...and then published for sale! Of course, we moved twice in between starting and finishing it...but it's here!

This quilt started with an intermediate block from the Wild Soul pattern. I love that by changing something as simple as exchanging background for print, something new emerges.

I wasn't satisfied with simple crossed sashing, and I personally dislike sewing sashing so I found a way to create a woven look by constructing the "sashing" within the blocks. Assembly is as simple as sewing blocks together!

The fabric was a stashed fat quarter bundle of Smol by Kimberly Knight filled out with some other Ruby Star Society scraps.

I backed this version with a pink wide back from Ruby Star Society and bound with a solid from my stash.

If you enjoy making this quilt and haven't tried out Wild Soul yet, give it a try! This quilt is a bit more complicated that it's parent design.

A pre-cut friendly pattern perfect for showcasing your favorite prints - made with an intermediate block from Wild Soul, Grow Wild is the second in the scrappy Wild Quilts series.

Can be made with fat quarters or 2.5" jelly roll strips

  • Written to accommodate working through your scraps if desired
  • Sashing is constructed with the blocks, so assembly is a breeze

Five sizes included: baby, throw, twin, queen, and king

Skill level: Intermediate
