Quilt-as-you-go Pocket Pillows

Quilt-as-you-go Pocket Pillows

So, not a quilt, but still one of my most popular patterns! These little pocket pillows (or reader pillows) are excellent projects for Christmas, birthday, or baby shower gifts. I love to make them and stuff a book and a few goodies into the pocket - bonus points if you make a coordinating baby quilt!

I personally love the striped ones - there's enough fabric to really let the fabric show. No need to make it more complicated! But for those of you who love little squares, there's a patchwork and even a diagonal stripe version included in the pattern as well.

These are super fast little pillows. If you've never tried quilt-as-you-go, it's a fun technique that secures the fabric to the batting as you sew, making the entire project go even faster. Finish them off with your pillow style of choice, or use one of the two included options in the pattern. I prefer zippers, though when I'm really in a rush a good old envelope backing is the way to go!
